This project was designed by Lloyd Thomas Architects, the owner being Phil Maffey.
Phil came to see JTC back in around 2017 hoping we could help design and install this project / renovation. Together with the aid of very good design drawings by the Architect we assembled prices for the curved roof and the cladding. Plus, all rainwater goods.
The Design needed to replicate a Dutch barn style and the car port area being integral gives the look from the roadside that it is not even there.
JTC Roofing installed the vapour barrier and curved insulation on this build. Forming the eaves edges and verges in timber to give good anchorage support for the VM Quartz plus Zinc sheeting.
As the zinc was fitted directly to the insulation onto a VM breather membrane, thermal fixings were used, passing through the insulation into the 30mm plus exterior grade plywood below.
The side cladding was fitted to 18mm exterior grade plywood, vented from bottom to top.
Mr Maffey also made use of his nearby fields by installing ground sourced heating, by excavating trenches and sourcing the heat from below.
The work progressed in a very neat and orderly fashion with Mr Maffey and his building crew always a great help. Here is a quote from Phil Maffey our client;
“JTC roofing agreed to provide and fit a VM Zinc roof and cladding to our barn conversion project. The project was completed on time, at cost to a high standard and the team on site were always highly professional. 3 years later there have been no issues and the finish still looks perfect.”
