JTC Roofing Contractors Ltd was incorporated on 16th August 1996 by Trevor R Corser – the current Chairman of the company. Trevor has been with the company throughout its growth and is well known in the Metal Roofing industry, chairing the FTMRC for 3 years since its formation.

Having a background in Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying with a famously renowned company for historical roofing and ornamental lead, Trevor decided – after 19 years of faithful service – to go it alone.

JTC was thus born.

With quite literally very little in the bank and single parent bringing up two very young daughters (with the help of parents and others close by) it was a case of moving quickly on the purchase of a vehicle and – in the day – stationery, a calculator and a very limited Commodore Amiga floppy drive computer. Plus the token bubblejet Canon portable printer.

The first company to employ the services of JTC Roofing were Treasure and Son for which JTC owed a lot of debt to for their trust and hopefully paid this off with the work the company carried out for the aforementioned company.

In particular Paul Daniels, (Yes a fine magician of a quantity surveyor and very good friend) Stephen Treasure (who used to panic when Trevor arrived due to the rather ‘fine line’ jokes in front of who really should not hear them), David Benson, John Bassi and many newer comers over the years.

The first contract being at Poston House, Vowchurch, for Mr and Mrs Bulmer – yes, the cider people.

This being a half dome to one end of the house.

The client was very pleased with the end product!

The next on the line was Hill Court, Walford. This house was bought by Rehau and the owner of Rehau decided the main house was to be his ‘pad’. More than £100,000 was spent on our leadwork which included parapet gutters, flat roofs and ornamental rainwater goods.

Moving swiftly through the years JTC have worked on many historic buildings, castles, cathedrals but were not happy to just remain static.

The scope for using other metals than lead is vast, from replacement church roofs that have either come to the end of their natural life – or stolen, to house extensions, fabulous new builds, and public buildings.

Many of which may be seen on the website.

During the 25 years of JTC Roofing Contractors Ltd we have not had a huge staff turnaround. As with many companies, people come and go, we at JTC have only had a few leave for pastures new. Notable employees who have helped us grow and expand as a business are Jane Cobbin (joined in 1997), David Simmons (Joined in 2000), Mark Weston and Kelvin Hall.

We have a very dedicated workforce who are very polite and accommodation and nothing is too much trouble. However – without the Architects, general designers and ‘decent’ Principle Contractors – no company would survive so it is thanks not only to the staff of JTC but also those who have trusted in the company’s skills.

Alongside these architects and, we have been nominated and have indeed won a few Roofing Awards over time.

All of the other staff also deserve credit for the longevity of the company and deserve a massive thanks.
